CDL Driver (Lumber & Building Materials)Linton, IN | On-site | Full-time | $20.00–$25.00 per hourR.P. Lumber is hiring a CDL Driver for our Linton, IN lumberyard. This is a local, hands-on delivery role for a safe, customer-focused driver who can run a commercial truck, load and unload building materials, and keep paperwork accurate.You will report to the General Manager. On a typical day you will deliver lumber, shingles, drywall, millwork, and other building products to customer jobsites, then help in the yard when you are not on a route.About R.P. Drivers are a core part of that promise — contractors and homeowners judge us by whether the load arrives on time, complete, and in good condition.What You Will DoDeliveries and customer serviceDeliver building materials to customer jobsites using efficient, legal routesMeet delivery schedules and represent the company with professional, courteous serviceUnload or help unload product by boom/crane, conveyor, Moffett (piggyback), or by handWatch jobsite conditions and follow safety rules at every stopSecure return loads before leaving the jobsiteInventory, paperwork, and yard supportComplete delivery, return, transfer, and Delivery Waiver / Consent paperwork so inventory stays accurateHelp load and secure residential and commercial building products on trucksWork with yard personnel to verify materials and quantities before a truck leavesStock, load, and organize lumber and building materials in the yard and warehouseHelp customers in the yard with loading and product questions when you are not on a deliveryVehicle and safetyKeep the inside and outside of assigned delivery vehicles cleanComplete required daily vehicle and equipment inspectionsFollow company safety guidelines and all traffic lawsKeep your CDL and DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate currentComplete required company equipment training and certification, including boom and forklift certificationPerform other related duties assigned by the General ManagerPlease note: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of the activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee.What You Need To HaveValid Class A or Class B CDL (air-brake and manual-transmission endorsements preferred)Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate, or willingness to obtain one (Non-Excepted Interstate self-certification preferred)Acceptable commercial driving record for the prior 60 monthsAt least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or GED, or 6–12 months of related experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experienceAbility to communicate clearly with customers, vendors, managers, and teammatesAbility to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as business needs requireAbility to perform the essential physical functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, working indoors and outdoors in changing weather, and frequently lifting or moving 50 to 100 poundsNice To HaveExperience delivering lumber, building materials, or other construction productsExperience operating a boom truck, Moffett/piggyback, conveyor, or forkliftStrong product knowledge of lumber, drywall, shingles, millwork, and related materialsFamiliarity with jobsite deliveries and contractor customersPay And BenefitsPay range: $20.00–$25.00 per hourPotential pay rate based upon region, experience, education, licenses and certifications.Pay Transparency: This compensation listed reflects the pay range reasonably expected for this posted position at the posted location(s).
