Supervisor, Laundry

Work Schedule Full‑time. Shift: Monday through Friday + rotating weekends (5:30 am to 2 pm). Weekend availability is required. Job Summary Supervises laundry employees to maintain quality and quantity of linen production and delivery. Inputs linen and payroll data into computer. Qualifications Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None. Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year of related experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer knowledge and basic computer skills. Good interpersonal skills. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Supervises laundry and linen production flow, ensuring all stations are manned and par levels are met, and carts are changed out daily. Supervises employees, inspects the quality of linen processed and monitors production. Trains new employees and enforces safety rules and regulations. Assists manager in administering hospital/departmental policies, procedures, and evaluations; recommends disciplinary action when necessary. Inputs laundry data on computer using payroll and linen management programs; ensures accurate payroll. Assures a clean and organized work environment. Assumes responsibility for laundry and linen service in the absence of the manager. Follows safe work practices and infection control procedures. Decision Making Independent judgment in making decisions involving non‑routine problems under general supervision. Working Relationships Direct supervision of other staff (24). Prepares and gives performance evaluations. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal and external customers via telephone or face‑to‑face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff, including individuals at Director level or above. Special Job Dimensions None.
