This contract opportunity offers the chance to work as a School Psychologist near Placitas, NM, covering both elementary and secondary caseloads for the upcoming academic year. The assignment runs from August 3rd through May 28th, providing consistent hours (37.5 per week) and the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team of educators and allied professionals.
Key Qualifications:
- Current or eligibility to obtain a New Mexico Public Education Department (NM PED) license as a School Psychologist
- Experience with elementary and secondary students preferred
- Excellent communication, assessment, and counseling skills
- Strong collaboration abilities to consult with teachers, parents, and administrators
- Ability to conduct evaluations and develop effective intervention strategies
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for students to address academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate interventions and supports
- Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention as needed
- Consult with teachers, staff, and parents regarding best practices to enhance student learning and adjustment
- Support positive school climate initiatives and promote student well-being
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district and state reporting requirements
