Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Behavioral Health Job Type: Full‑Time | Days Schedule: 3x12, Days (7:00‑19:00) with rotating weekends. Sign‑On Bonus: $5,000 with a 2‑year commitment. Position Overview Join the 33‑bed Behavioral Health Unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses such as Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Substance Use Disorder. Work in a team of RNs, CNAs, Mental Health Assistants, psychiatrists, and mental health providers with a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:6‑1:9. Responsibilities Perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation. Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Keep patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly. Qualifications Current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with the State of North Carolina Division of Facility Services. High school diploma or equivalent. AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision and in a stressful environment. No substantiated findings of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of property in a facility providing nursing care.
