Job Title: Jr. Sushi Chef

Job Summary:

The Jr. Sushi Chef is responsible for producing food primarily for the take-out area, performing some prep work, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the work area. This role supports the culinary team in delivering high-quality sushi and maintaining efficient operations in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Produce food items primarily for the take-out area according to Bondi Sushi's recipes and quality standards.
• Rolling maki, prepping boxes, portioning sauces
• Perform prep work, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed.
• Communicate with Sushi/Hot line Chefs regarding food quality and availability.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to food hygiene, sanitation, and waste management.
• Assist with opening and closing duties of the kitchen area.
• Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
• Be ready and willing to assist other members of the team as needed.

Qualifications:

• Ability to maintain a productive and welcoming work environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members.
• Understanding of all common food allergies.
• Ability to work in a high-paced, demanding kitchen environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and local Department of Health standards.
• Food Handler's Certification or the ability to obtain one in accordance with federal, state, or local regulations.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Familiarity with Japanese (Sushi) cuisine is preferred.
