Business Assistant Position: Business Assistant – Dental Front Office. Schedule Availability Needed Monday Off Tuesday 7:00 a.m. – Thursday 5:30 p.m. Friday 7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Occasional Saturdays (approximately 1 month a year, 6 times a year) 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. About Essington Family Dental Care Essington Family Dental Care, a Heartland Dental supported office, is a unique community practice located at the corner of Essington Road and Sanctuary Lane. More About The Role Greet and welcome patients to create a positive first impression. Answer phones, manage office mail and email, and communicate with patients and insurance companies. Use Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping. Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers. File patient insurance claims; follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits, and provide coverage explanations. Post insurance and patient payments, process accounts receivable. Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients. Partner with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential. Access to on‑demand Daily Pay. Minimum Qualifications Experience working in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to handle PHI in accordance with HIPAA training and maintain data safeguards. Preferred Experience 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting. 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable. Experience with Dentrix or other dental software. Physical Requirements Perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Lift up to 15 pounds at times. Attend virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year. Complete a tuberculosis (TB) test prior to starting employment in dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN).
