This individual is responsible for optimizing the organization’s security posture across endpoint, network, cloud, and identity domains, as well as responding to security incidents, and working with external providers. The role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with 5–7 years of progressional experience who can operate effectively within a lean team.Location: Houston, Texas (preferable) or Remote, USRemote Options: This role will be on a hybrid work arrangement, 3 days a week in the office and 2 days at home.What You’ll be DoingSecurity TechnologyGuide the design of security-related tool implementation, architectures and standardsHands-on administration of security tools and other technologyServe as primary security point of contact for outsourced providers, ensuring priorities are clear and deliverables are metGuide the ongoing refinement of security policies and standardsReview and validate work products from providersParticipate in regular provider service reviews and contribute to performance assessmentsEnsure providers operate in alignment with Anuvu’s security policies, standards, and compliance requirements.Security Monitoring & Threat DetectionWork with providers to ensure that security posture is monitored and managed, including anomalies, alerts, and indicators of compromiseTriage and investigate security events in line with the incident response frameworkMaintain awareness of the current threat landscape and apply relevant intelligence to detection and response activitiesVulnerability ManagementWork with providers to ensure regular vulnerability scans across endpoints, servers, and cloud infrastructure.Plan and track projects and programs needed to improve security posture based on Penetration Testing findings and company cyber security standardsMaintain accurate records of vulnerability statusSupport penetration testing activities coordinated with external vendorsContribute to internal security audits and assessments, including evidence collection and control testingIncident Response SupportParticipate in incident response activities, including containment, investigation, and evidence collectionDocument incident timelines, findings, and contributing factors in support of root cause analysisAssist with post-incident review preparation and track corrective actions through to closureMaintain and update incident response processes and standardsAccess Controls & Identity SecuritySupport administration and review of identity and access management (IAM) policies and controls.Conduct periodic access reviews and enforce least-privilege principles across systems and platforms.Assist with the management of privileged access and MFA enforcement.Security Awareness & Vendor CoordinationLead security awareness initiatives, including team member trainingLiaise with the MSP and external security vendors on day-to-day security operational mattersOther duties as assigned.What We’re Looking ForExperience & Qualifications5–7 years of professional experience and 2-3 years of information security experienceHands-on experience with SOC, SIEM, EDR, and related information security processes and standardsWorking knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs) and endpoint securityFamiliarity with cloud security principles, particularly AWSParticipation in incident response processes, including RCAAwareness of one or more security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or Cyber EssentialsRelevant certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, GCIH, or equivalent)Skills & CompetenciesAnalytical and methodical approach to problem-solving, with strong attention to detailAbility to communicate security findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesSelf-starter who can manage multiple simultaneous initiatives and make recommendations to leadership based on experienceCollaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindsetHigh personal standards for energy, accuracy, completeness and qualityThis Might Be the Right Place if You….Are a team fit; can help advance ourglobal, inclusive cultureAre self-starter who likes to roll up your sleeves and take initiativeCan think about tomorrow, while getting your work done todayAre a collaborative team player with both internal teams and external providersAre curious and open to learning and finding new solutionsWelcome opportunities to provide and receive constructive feedbackAre organized and have strong communication skillsThe Benefits of Working HereA career with Anuvu is a unique opportunity to grow your knowledge and skills within a casual culture that thrives on collaboration and innovation.
