About Us:

Soccer Stars and our multi-sport program, Amazing Athletes, provide high-energy, educational sports programs for young children throughout Colorado Springs. We introduce children to multiple sports while helping develop confidence, coordination, teamwork, healthy habits, and a lifelong love of movement.

We are a growing local business and are hiring immediately for an experienced coach who can take ownership of our existing classes.

Our immediate need is simple: we need a dependable, confident coach who can independently run our weekday multi-sport preschool classes and possibly Saturday morning soccer classes.

Most of our athletes are preschool-aged—typically around 2.5–5 years old —so this is very different from traditional youth sports coaching. Being great with young children is more important than being an expert athlete.

You’ll receive our curriculum, lesson plans, equipment, and training. What we need from you is the ability to walk into a preschool, confidently take charge of the group, and create an energetic class kids are excited to attend every week.

Our current classes are primarily during weekday preschool hours, generally 9:00 AM–12:00 PM .

As we grow, additional opportunities may include:

• Before-school programs, approximately 6:00–8:00 AM
• After-school programs, approximately 2:00–5:00 PM
• Saturday and/or Sunday mornings
• Camps, events, and additional school programs

You do not need to be available for every time period. However, reliable weekday morning availability is the priority right now.

• Independently lead sports and movement classes for preschool-aged children
• Teach simple, age-appropriate sports skills through games, imagination, and play
• Keep children engaged, active, smiling, and participating
• Confidently manage behavior and maintain control of the class
• Adapt activities quickly based on age, class size, space, energy level, or unexpected circumstances
• Set up and organize equipment before and after classes
• Build positive relationships with children, teachers, directors, and parents
• Represent Amazing Athletes professionally at our partner schools

Requirements

• Experience working directly with preschool-aged children
• Comfortable independently leading and controlling a full class of preschoolers from day one after training
• High-energy, expressive, confident personality
• Excellent reliability and punctuality
• Ability to adapt quickly—preschool classes rarely go exactly according to plan
• Reliable transportation throughout the Colorado Springs area
• Able to safely demonstrate physical activities and carry sports equipment
• Able to pass a background check

This is a lead coaching role, not an assistant position. If you are uncomfortable being animated, speaking loudly, taking charge of a group, or being the center of attention, this likely isn't the right position for you.

We strongly prefer candidates with experience in:

• Early Childhood Education (ECE)
• Preschool or daycare classrooms
• Pre-K or Kindergarten
• Child development
• Youth recreation
• Youth sports coaching

Sports knowledge or playing experience is a plus, but you don't need to know every sport . Our lessons are designed for preschool-aged children, so the sports skills themselves are simple to learn and teach.

We can teach the curriculum.

We're looking for someone who already knows how to connect with and lead young children.

Our strongest coaches are energetic, animated, adaptable, dependable, encouraging, and comfortable being a little silly.

A successful class should be visibly and audibly fun—kids moving, laughing, smiling, participating, and excited to see their coach again next week.
