Commercial Property Manager

**MUST HAVE BIG-BOX/GROCERY ANCHORED SHOPPING CENTER EXPERIENCE - ALL OTHER ASSETS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED** Position: Commercial Property Manager - Retail Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Property Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of power center (big-box/national or grocery anchored) . This is a remote role (must live in Michigan) offering the flexibility to balance on-site engagement with strategic operational work. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional tenant experiences in retail, office, and mixed-use settings. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day property operations across assigned retail, ensuring building systems, maintenance, and tenant services consistently meet Class A standards. Oversee construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects from planning through completion, including budgeting, contractor selection, scheduling, and final turnover. Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants , cultivating professional relationships through proactive communication, problem-solving, and personalized service to drive retention and satisfaction. Develop and manage annual operating budgets , monitor monthly financial performance, and prepare variance reports and CAM reconciliations in partnership with accounting and ownership teams. Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and delivery of a best-in-class retail experience. Negotiate and manage vendor and service contracts (janitorial, landscaping, HVAC, security, parking, and specialty retail services) to ensure accountability, quality, and cost-efficiency. Partner with leasing teams to support new tenant onboarding, build-out coordination, and space planning , ensuring seamless transitions and tenant satisfaction. Maintain lease compliance , assist with enforcement of terms, and keep comprehensive lease abstracts and tracking systems up to date. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, accounting, and asset management teams to align operational performance with ownership and portfolio goals . Qualifications 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial property management within retail (grocery anchored, big-box national anchored shopping centers) . Demonstrated success managing tenant improvements and capital projects , including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor oversight. Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance protocols, and vendor management . Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills ; able to maintain professionalism and composure under pressure. Proficient in Yardi, MRI, Building Engines , and Microsoft Office Suite. Solid grasp of lease administration, budgeting, and financial reporting fundamentals . Hybrid work readiness : ability to balance on-site property oversight with remote strategic planning and administrative responsibilities. #J-18808-Ljbffr
