Sales Specialist - Payment solution (m/f/d)

Payment Sales Specialist

Matrix POS is continuing to grow, and Payments is one of our key growth drivers. We are looking for an ambitious, hands-on, and commercially driven individual contributor to join our Sales team as Payment Sales Specialist.

In the first 12 months, your focus will be primarily on driving payment penetration within our existing customer base. Around 85% of our customers are not yet using our in-house payment solution, so the initial priority in this role will be to proactively engage existing customers, convert them to our integrated payment offering, and increase transaction-relevant GMV.

Over the mid to long term, you will also play a key role in winning new customers who can benefit from an integrated payment solution combined with the Matrix POS system.

Success in this role means: Short term: Delivering a measurable increase in payment penetration across existing customers, with merchants successfully upgraded or migrated and actively processing transactions. Long term: Winning new customers who adopt the Matrix POS system together with our integrated payment solution.

Your Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of payment penetration and GMV conversion across the existing customer base, from prioritisation through to execution of a clear and proactive conversion plan.
  • Proactively drive outreach through calls, emails, and targeted account engagement to convert existing customers, migrate merchants, and close upgrades.
  • Help win new customers and position payments as a core part of the Matrix POS value proposition.
  • Work closely with the SaaS Sales team to increase payment attachment rates in new customer deals.
  • Identify high-value merchants, focus on the right opportunities, and manage your accounts with structure and pragmatism.
  • Analyse existing payment set-ups, run compelling demos and commercial conversations, handle objections confidently, and drive deals to close.
  • Work in a data-driven way, keep CRM hygiene high, forecast accurately, and report clearly on conversion and GMV KPIs.

What We Are Looking For

  • 15 years of experience in B2B sales with a focus on payments, such as acquiring, acceptance, terminals, or payment integrations. POS experience is a plus.
  • Proven success in a hands-on individual contributor sales role, ideally involving prospecting, conversion, and closing.
  • Experience growing revenue within an existing customer base and developing opportunities independently.
  • A strong hunter mentality, high ownership, and a genuine willingness to stay close to the day-to-day sales work.
  • Strong communication and closing skills, with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders effectively.
  • A structured, autonomous, and results-oriented way of working.
  • Fluent German (is a must) and good English skills.
