Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room is responsible for providing care to a wide range of patient types from neonates to geriatrics, including trauma patients in a Level 2 trauma center. The role requires managing care for critically ill patients, performing triage assessment, and participating in evidence collection for sexual assault cases.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department with various conditions, including trauma and stroke.
• Perform triage assessments to prioritize patient needs and initiate appropriate actions.
• Participate in evidence collection and document findings accurately.
• Support patient stabilization, resuscitation, and monitor vital signs throughout treatment.

Requirements:

• RN with minimum 2 years of ED experience (excluding travel experience).
• Completion of a nursing education program and registered with the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS required; CPI or MAB/MOAB preferred.
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system and use of equipment like Omnicell and Alaris.
