Registered Nurse, Outpatient Infusion

Job Summary The Registered Nurse at North Mississippi Health Services Systems is responsible for providing safe, quality patient care using the nursing process, maintaining effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires leadership skills in prioritizing, delegating, and evaluating work assignments, as well as effective problem‑solving abilities to respond to changing patient needs. Responsibilities Uses the nursing process to provide safe, quality patient care and documents accordingly. Ensures compliance with all NMHS policies and requirements as directed by the Nurse Manager and Educator. Provides patient/family education and acts as a resource for existing staff and new employees. Participates in the Preceptor class to train new employees. Maintains communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care. Attends daily unit huddles to ensure proper assignments and identify team members for the shift. Projects a caring, friendly and helpful image to patients and other customers. Utilizes the patient’s communication board (whiteboard) to identify name, date, goals, other staff, procedures or tests for the day, keeping patients and families informed. Complies with NMHS behavioral standards. Maintains competency by staying informed of changing trends in nursing practice. Attends annual review and unit‑specific training within the department. Performs required continuing education hours online and in classroom. Ensures compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. Is licensed by the board of Nursing for the state. Qualifications Associate’s Degree Registered Nurse. Required. Completion of RN Orientation and unit‑specific checklist requirements. RN – State or Compact State licensure. CPR certification. ACLS certification. PALS certification. NIH Stroke Scale Certification. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Maintain continuing education and unit‑specific requirements. Effective communication and teaching skills. General knowledge of regulatory and accrediting standards. Ability to prioritize, delegate, and evaluate work assignments. Anticipates resources needed and assimilates data and reports appropriately. Orientates new employees to the unit and reports progress to charge nurse or nurse manager. Maintains effective interpersonal skills with physicians, ancillary personnel, nursing staff, patients, family, and visitors. Physical Demands Standing: constantly. Walking: constantly.
