Marine Structural Engineer - NAVFAC Focus Mid/Sr. Level

We are actively looking for an experienced Structural Engineer with marine structures focus to join our Honolulu, HI office. The Marine Structural Engineer shall have 12+ years of experience and the skills to assist with leading the design of waterfront structures and marine infrastructure projects, including piers, wharves, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads, breakwater and shore protection structures. Lead/Assist in leading and managing projects including the preparation of engineering design and construction documentsAssist in managing multidiscipline project design teams for projects across the Pacific, including subconsultants, and establish priorities, schedules, and scope of workPlan, direct and monitor all aspects of multidiscipline projects with varying degrees of technical complexityWorks effectively independently and collaboratively in a team environmentMentors entry-level and junior staffPrepare proposals and directly interfaces with clients and agenciesPerforms periodic site visits and attends client meetingsParticipates in office business development strategy and implementationInterface with clients as needed for successful project delivery. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required; Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required. Ability to obtain PE in Hawaii or with the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire12+ years of structural design experienceUnderstanding of NAVFAC Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build delivery methods desiredExperience effectively interacting with staff, vendors, clients and agenciesAcademy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE) certification in the Port Engineering category preferredDue to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship and clear results of a thorough background check that may include but is not limited to credit and criminal historyAll new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hire Base salary range: $154,000 to $203,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description. Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the Hawaii market. Working conditions: Majority of work is office-based.
