Facilities TechnicianThe Facilities Technician maintains and supports a modern aircraft hangar and associated office spaces by performing general maintenance, cleaning, and basic repair tasks. This role combines hands-on work with hand tools, facility upkeep, and direct support for aircraft operations and maintenance activities in a dynamic hangar environment.ResponsibilitiesPerform daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment and work areas throughout the hangar and attached facilities.Use hand tools to complete basic mechanical tasks, minor repairs, and general maintenance projects.Clean and maintain woodworking rooms, hangar workshops, classrooms, and paint rooms, including sweeping, wiping surfaces, and removing trash.Handle cleaning supplies safely and dispose of materials and waste in accordance with facility procedures.Run errands to obtain gas, repair materials, and cleaning supplies as needed to support operations.Assist with unloading equipment on aircraft and help build supports to secure aircraft assemblies in place.Support main office areas by performing standard maintenance work, fixing minor issues, and assembling office furniture.Inspect and maintain common areas such as bathrooms and lunchrooms to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use.Move vehicles within the hangar when needed to support staging and operational requirements.Start each day by working through a hangar checklist, including moving and staging equipment, sweeping, emptying trash bins, and wiping down surfaces.Build and store crates and other storage solutions to support aircraft operations and maintenance projects.Replace lights and perform basic building maintenance tasks such as repairing doors and windows.Assist with aircraft ballast removal, replacement, and storage as directed by the operations or maintenance team.Retrieve and organize tools and equipment to support aircraft maintenance activities.Perform painting and touch-up work in hangar and facility areas as required.Climb ladders and operate scissor lifts safely to access elevated work areas and complete maintenance tasks.Adapt to a variety of assignments throughout the day, supporting both aircraft operations and general facility upkeep.Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.Essential SkillsExperience using basic hand tools for general maintenance, repair, or construction tasks.Ability to perform cleaning and general labor tasks, including sweeping, trash removal, and surface cleaning.Comfort working in hangar and outdoor environments with variable weather and temperature conditions.Ability to climb ladders and safely operate scissor lifts to reach elevated work areas.Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on maintenance and repair tasks.Reliability and flexibility to start shifts as early as 5:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m. when needed, while maintaining a full 8-hour workday.Strong willingness to learn and build a long-term career in facilities maintenance and support.Physical ability to walk, climb stairs, and remain on feet for most of the day in a large facility.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in facilities maintenance, construction, carpentry, or general labor environments.Familiarity with painting, including surface preparation and basic finishing work.Experience working with tools and equipment commonly used in maintenance and repair settings.Comfort working around aircraft operations and maintenance activities.Ability to follow checklists and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, operational environment.Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, orderly workspaces.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane, WA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
