The RVT collaborates closely with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care and contributes to the continuous improvement of vascular diagnostic services. Attention to detail and adherence to safety and regulatory standards are paramount to ensure reliable and reproducible results. Ultimately, the RVT helps improve patient outcomes by delivering precise vascular imaging and diagnostic information in a timely and professional manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent credential.

- Completion of continuing education courses related to vascular technology and patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations including arterial and venous studies of the head, neck, abdomen, and extremities using duplex ultrasound technology.
- Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality before each use.
- Analyze and interpret vascular images and waveforms to identify abnormalities such as stenosis, occlusions, aneurysms, and thrombosis.
- Document findings accurately and communicate results effectively to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements related to patient confidentiality and safety.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technologists and students as needed.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and continuing education to stay current with advances in vascular technology and best practices.
Skills:
The Registered Vascular Technologist utilizes technical skills daily to operate sophisticated ultrasound equipment and capture high-quality vascular images essential for accurate diagnosis. Analytical skills are critical for interpreting complex vascular waveforms and identifying pathological conditions, which directly influence patient treatment plans. Strong communication skills enable the technologist to effectively relay findings to physicians and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care. Organizational skills are employed to maintain detailed patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safeguarding patient confidentiality and data integrity.
