JV Boys Basketball Head Coach

JV BOYS BASKETBALL HEAD COACH
The JV Boys Basketball Head Coach is responsible for leading and developing the junior varsity basketball program with an emphasis on player development, team concepts, and preparation for future varsity competition. The coach creates a positive and competitive environment while helping student-athletes develop basketball skills, confidence, character, and a strong understanding of the expectations of South Haven Basketball.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and conducting structured practices focused on skill development, fundamentals, conditioning, team concepts, and game strategy.
- Providing individualized instruction and constructive feedback to help athletes improve their skills, basketball IQ, and confidence.
- Managing all aspects of JV games, including preparation, lineups, substitutions, strategy, and in-game adjustments.
- Fostering a team culture built on effort, accountability, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Communicating effectively with athletes, parents, athletic department staff, and the Varsity Head Coach regarding schedules, expectations, and player development.
- Collaborating closely with the Varsity coaching staff to maintain consistency in program philosophy, terminology, expectations, and player development.
- Investing in the development of youth basketball and feeder programs to help build long-term success within the South Haven basketball program.
- Promoting academic success and positive character development while serving as a strong role model for student-athletes.
- Ensuring compliance with all school, conference, and MHSAA rules and regulations.
