CT-MRI tech - Odessa, Texas

Overview Texas Oncology is looking for a CT Tech to join our team in the Odessa, Texas location. This position will be either level 1, 2 or Senior based on relevant candidate experience. Responsibilities Coordinate and administer all CT/MRI radiologic exams; ensure technical quality and timely reporting of results. Perform CT procedures as ordered achieving a high level of quality. Offer expertise to physicians regarding appropriateness of additional or modified studies. Escort patients to treatment rooms, assist with dressings as necessary, and complete all paperwork required for timely delivery of CT services. Develop, process radiologic films and log procedures; process routine paperwork. Provide protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Ensure patient safety and physical comfort during technologist care. Conduct daily quality control measures to monitor machine performance; report malfunctions or need for adjustments to appropriate company or facility. Arrange preventive maintenance as recommended by vendor; follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment. Order, log and return outside films requested from other agencies; complete appropriate documentation. Arrange for release of films to patients and outside agencies. Maintain paperwork for tracking loaned films and maintain confidentiality of all patient and medical staff information. Qualifications The ideal candidate for the CT MRI Tech position will have the following background and experience: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school. Minimum three years experience as a CT Technologist. Certification as a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required. Current IV and CPR certifications required. Certification in CT preferred. Level 2 additionally requires minimum five years experience as a CT Technologist. Level Senior additionally requires minimum seven years experience as a CT Technologist. Physical Demands The physical demands of this job include full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, lifting and pushing patients in wheelchairs or stretchers weighing up to 300 pounds, reaching above shoulder height, extended sitting or standing, and correct vision and hearing. Work Environment The work environment includes regular exposure to direct contact with patients, potential exposure to blood, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other clinic conditions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
