Overview Position Type Part Time Category Student Description This position is only open to current Pacific University Students Job Title: Admissions Ambassador Department: Undergraduate Admissions, Knight Hall, Forest Grove Campus Position Type: Part-Time Student Position Job Summary: As an Admissions Ambassador, you will play a vital role in shaping the first impressions of prospective students and their families. This position involves a combination of responsibilities including leading campus tours, providing excellent customer service, interacting with all guests, performing data entry, and assisting with general office tasks. Your contributions will help ensure a welcoming and efficient admissions process, creating a positive experience for all visitors. Key Responsibilities: Tour Guide: Serve as a key positive representative of Pacific, understanding that your interactions directly contribute to students' overall impression of the campus experience. Share personal experiences and insights about campus life, academics, and student activities to positively answer questions. Provide campus tours to a variety of different groups including prospective students and their supporters, high school groups, athletic teams, and alumni. Complete required training and attend required meetings each semester. Events and Prospective Student Interactions: . Greet and welcome visitors with a positive and friendly demeanor, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed. Proactively approach incoming families, offering assistance and starting conversations to make them feel at ease. Assisting in set up, running, and problem solving during admissions events Sit on a faculty and student panel to answer frequently asked questions Data Entry: Accurately enter prospective student information into the university’s database. Assist with updating and maintaining records to ensure data integrity. Support the admissions team by handling data-related tasks as needed. General Office Duties: Perform a variety of office tasks including filing, typing, answering phones, and processing mail. Assist with the preparation and shipment of recruitment materials. Help with organizing office supplies and managing inventory as needed. Some evening and weekend work may be required for special events. Wage Rate: $16.80 per hour Qualifications Current Enrollment: Must be a current student in good academic standing at Pacific University. Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse audiences. Customer Service: A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional service to prospective students and families. Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle data entry and office tasks accurately.
