Job Overview The COSS Support Specialist supports North Carolina Cooperative Extension in Gastonia, NC, providing office, marketing, and administrative assistance to extension staff and volunteers. Key Responsibilities Provide office support for extension staff, including greeting visitors, answering phones, and taking messages. Assist with marketing and media creation, including social media posts and newsletter design. Handle financial transactions, write receipts, and process fees per county procedures. Support volunteer programs and special events. Cover administrative tasks for other staff as needed. Required Qualifications High school diploma with at least two years of office assistance or secretarial experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Valid North Carolina driver’s license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Experience in web-page management, social media publishing, and newsletter design. Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Working Conditions Full‑time, in‑person position. Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends as required.
