Activities Assistant

The Avenue at Aurora is a 5-star post-hospital rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility. It offers a hotel-like atmosphere with all-private suites and a compassionate, resident-focused team dedicated to creating a comfortable, engaging, and supportive environment for our residents.

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and creative Activities Assistant to help enrich the lives of our residents through meaningful activities, programs, and events.

What You'll Do

• Assist with planning and leading individual and group activities
• Conduct room visits and provide personalized activities based on resident interests and needs
• Organize and maintain activity supplies and equipment
• Document resident participation and assist with Resident Council
• Help coordinate evening, weekend, holiday, and community events
• Promote resident engagement, socialization, and quality of life
• Follow safety and infection control procedures during activities
• Collaborate with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners

What We're Looking For

• Previous activities programming or long-term care experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Creative, energetic, and adaptable
• Compassionate approach when working with seniors and individuals with varying needs
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
• Ability to move throughout the facility and actively participate in resident activities
• Ability to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
