Practice with Purpose.** As a **Home Infusion Nurse** , you'll provide one‑on‑one, skilled clinical care to patients where they feel most comfortable-at home or in an ambulatory infusion suite. You'll have the support of a multidisciplinary care team, comprehensive training, and the resources you need to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate infusion care. **In This Role, You Will:** + Learn more about our Home Infusion Pharmacy: Optum Infusion Pharmacy ( + Work an average of **30-40 hours per week** + Travel within the Lawrence, Topeka to Overland Park areato deliver care in patient homes or designated sites. **Key Responsibilities** + Travel to patient homes and related sites using a personal or rental vehicle in accordance with company travel policies + Provide safe and compliant infusion services in accordance with Optum Infusion Pharmacy policies, protocols, and physician orders. + Establish and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with patients and caregivers, including education on self-care and self-administration. + Assess patient suitability for home infusion therapy, including home safety, caregiver support, and patient independence. + Obtain and maintain accurate patient medical histories, clinical assessments, and all required documentation, including plans of care, visit notes, medication profiles, and discharge summaries. + Deliver skilled nursing care across a range of patient ages and conditions based on physician orders and treatment plans. + Establish, access, and maintain vascular devices, including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, tunneled catheters, and implanted ports. + Administer medications and monitor patient responses, including managing infusion reactions, vital signs, side effects, and lab collection. + Communicate patient status and therapy response promptly with physicians, pharmacists, supervisors, and other care team members + Assist in staff orientation and training, serving as a clinical educator and resource as requested **Why You'll Love This Role** Beyond the meaningful impact you make every day, you'll enjoy: + **Paid Door-to-Door** - Time and mileage fully compensated + **Mileage reimbursement in alignment with IRS Standard mileage rates** + **Generous Benefits include accruing paid time off (PTO)** + **Monthly performance-based bonus opportunity** + **Comprehensive training** ensures you feel confident with every therapy before administering care. + **1:1 patient connection** , allowing you to see the difference your nursing care makes firsthand **Required Qualifications** + Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas + Current BLS/CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross or willingness to obtain prior to start + One or more years of RN experience in a clinical setting supporting infusion or IV therapy (e.g., ICU, Med‑Surg, ED, PACU). + Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgment and effective interdisciplinary collaboration skills. + Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to cover an 80‑mile service radius while working 30-40 hours per week **Preferred Qualifications** + Previous home infusion experience + Familiarity with Microsoft Office and EMR platforms + Knowledge of Infusion Nursing Society (INS) standards + Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and home infusion accreditation guidelines + Strong communication, organization, critical‑thinking, and teaching skills _At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone. The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.94 to $51.63 per hour based on full-time employment.
