CDL A Truck Driver

CDL Class B Automatic Water Truck Driver

Drive an automatic transmission water truck to support large site development projects and fine grading operations. You will transport the truck between the shop and job sites each day, operate it safely and efficiently, and step out to assist the grading crew as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate an automatic transmission water truck on large site development projects in a safe and efficient manner.
• Pick up the water truck from the shop at the start of the day and return it to the shop at the end of the day.
• Provide water support for fine grading crews, including dust control and soil conditioning on residential subdivision projects.
• Exit the truck as needed to assist the fine grading crew with on-site tasks and coordination.
• Follow all applicable traffic, safety, and site regulations while driving and operating the water truck.
• Perform basic pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and report any mechanical or safety issues.
• Communicate effectively with grading crews, site supervisors, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized truck and work area in accordance with company standards.

Essential Skills

• Valid CDL Class B license.
• Valid tanker endorsement.
• Ability to safely operate automatic transmission water trucks.
• Experience driving water trucks on construction or site development projects preferred.
• Ability to work on active construction sites, including stepping out of the truck to assist fine grading crews.
• Strong awareness of safety practices related to commercial driving and construction environments.
• Reliable transportation to and from the shop for daily truck pick-up and drop-off.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on residential subdivision projects.
• Previous construction or earthwork grading experience.
• Comfort working alongside multiple grading crews and equipment operators.
• Willingness to learn and receive training on water truck operations if limited experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly with crew members and follow directions on busy job sites.

Work Environment

Work takes place on residential subdivision construction sites in partnership with reputable builders. You will collaborate with seven full grading crews, each consisting of seven to eight equipment operators, in an active outdoor environment that involves heavy machinery, earthwork, and fine grading activities. The role is based out of a central shop where you pick up and drop off the water truck daily, and you will spend most of your time on-site operating the truck and assisting crews in typical construction attire suitable for outdoor work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $58240.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
