Opportunity The Account Manager manages a book of insurance business and provides professional, courteous service to clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues. The role supports Producers and/or Account Executives in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business. Responsibilities Work closely with Producers and HUB personnel on client service, marketing, and renewal, adhering to HUB’s best practices and standard procedures. Provide professional, courteous service to clients and internal stakeholders, maintaining a rate of account retention that meets or exceeds expectations. Prepare and implement all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts. Understand client insurance objectives and critically analyze and compare insurance plans to determine suitability. Stay abreast of changes in the insurance industry and external conditions that may impact clients, making appropriate recommendations and attending continuing education training. Act as liaison between clients and carriers to resolve service issues, negotiate with underwriters and carriers, and troubleshoot claims and billing issues. Identify opportunities for cross‑sell and up‑sell of other HUB products and services that meet client needs. Document other insurance products and services clients purchase through other providers, noting those providers. Maintain accurate and organized account files, updating HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems to ensure data accuracy. Prepare reports, proposals, and comparisons for management as required. Assist with account rounding and the development of new business in accordance with standard practices, policies, and procedures. Manage, organize, and conduct client meetings independently or in conjunction with Producers. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 2–5 years of insurance industry experience (brokage preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Property & Causality license. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Effectively communicate orally and in writing with internal and external customers. Present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and agency management systems. Use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry. Confidence and demeanor to interact effectively at all organizational levels. Develop and maintain strong client relationships and coordinate with service vendors to meet client needs. Respond to customer needs, solicit feedback to improve service, and handle difficult or emotional situations promptly and accurately. Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Gather pertinent information, analyze, and solve problems efficiently and thoroughly. Prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities to complete assignments on time with optimal accuracy. Working Conditions and Physical Demands The position is predominantly stationary, requiring frequent communication with colleagues and clients both in person and by telephone. The role involves constant computer use and occasional movement within the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
