Overview The Complex Claims Director – TPA Oversight will analyze and process bodily injury and third‑party property damage claims, oversee independent adjusters, coordinate with TPA governance, and ensure timely, cost‑effective resolutions. The role requires strong analytical, litigation, and leadership skills to manage high exposure claims and maintain accurate reserves. Responsibilities Analyze and process bodily injury and third‑party property damage claims to determine exposure. Determine the need for independent adjusters, manage their scope, and control associated costs. Identify coverage issues, draft comprehensive coverage letters, and provide guidance to coverage counsel. Assess liability and resolve claims within established evaluation criteria. Maintain claim diaries, ensure all documentation is timely, accurate, and includes clear analysis on coverage, damages, reserves, and liability. Process and pay invoices in a timely manner. Coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigation or litigation management. Calculate and assign reserves, monitor reserve accuracy throughout the claim life cycle. Refer cases to supervisors or management when appropriate. Attend arbitrations, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials. Respond to requests or directions from stakeholders professionally and promptly. Communicate with underwriters and other business partners to keep underwriting aware of large losses and industry trends. Collaborate with TPA Governance, Relationship Management, and TPA Claims Financial teams to ensure compliance with claim handling and reporting guidelines and alignment with financial reporting. Qualifications 7+ years of General Liability/Auto claims experience, including complex and high exposure claims. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Advanced litigation claims management experience, including ADR and mediation for auto/GL exposures. Deep technical expertise in interpreting insurance contracts. Comprehensive knowledge of claim handling procedures, performance strategies, and best practices. Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills. Demonstrated ability to initiate and champion change initiatives that leverage technology. Creative problem‑solving and the drive to achieve business goals and objectives.
