Responsibilities

• Circulate on operative cases across service lines including Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, ENT, GI, Spine, Ophthalmology, and Podiatry; manage equipment and maintain sterile field
• Position patients, assist with instrumentation, and perform counts to ensure patient safety and case readiness
• Monitor intraoperative patient status and coordinate with the surgical team, anesthesia, and nurses; document events and care provided
• Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and safety protocols; communicate effectively with surgeons and the broader care team
• Support transitional care with postoperative handoffs, patient/family education, and accurate documentation
• May be required to float to related units and participate in on-call rotations as assigned

Requirements

• Current New York State RN license
• OR circulator experience required
• 2 years of OR experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through AHA/RQI
• NIHSS certification
• Stroke certification/training or knowledge of stroke protocols
• Ability to work in an operating room setting on a travel assignment
