Oracle DBA/System Administrator
Comtech is a woman-owned small business founded in 1998 and headquartered in Reston, VA. We have developed our methodologies and processes based on the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v.3 Framework across enterprise infrastructure operations. These methodologies and processes are reinforced through our organization's externally accredited certifications, which include ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS), ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 IT Service Management Systems (SMS, corporate ITIL certification), ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Management System (ISMS), and CMMI-DEV Level 3.
Job Description
Oracle DBA/System Admin needed to help us build the next-generation of customer engagement systems for federal service agencies.
Qualifications
Minimum skills and qualifications:
- 4 years or more of IT Delivery and/or Operations experience
- 4 years or more of writing SQL queries
- 4 years or more of managing Oracle databases in a Unix/Linux environment
- Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Bachelors Degree or 4 additional years experience in lieu of degree
- Able to work flexible schedule/weekends if needed
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle Exadata
- Experience with managing Oracle databases in a RAC and non RAC environment
- Experience with applying Oracle patch in an Oracle Exadata RAC environment
- Certified Oracle DBA
- IT Operations experience in a Homeland Security or Law Enforcement environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Oracle Databases in a RAC and non RAC environment
- Assist in troubleshooting database issues
- Assist in database performance tuning
- Responsible for installing and configuring databases
- Responsible for RMAN backup of databases
- Responsible for applying quarterly Oracle database patch and database upgrade
