Senior Business Analyst – Application ModernizationLocation: Columbus, OH (Hybrid – Onsite as Needed)Position Type: Long-Term ContractPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a large-scale enterprise application modernization initiative. This role will lead business analysis activities throughout the modernization and complete rewrite of enterprise .NET applications while serving as the liaison between business stakeholders and software development teams.The ideal candidate has strong experience gathering requirements for modernization, legacy system replacement, cloud migration, or application refactoring initiatives.ResponsibilitiesLead requirements elicitation sessions with business stakeholders and technical teams.Analyze existing legacy applications and document current-state business processes.Develop business requirements, functional requirements, and non-functional requirements.Write user stories and detailed acceptance criteria.Create workflow diagrams, process maps, decision trees, and business process documentation.Support data migration planning by documenting business rules, transformation logic, and data mapping.Collaborate with architects and developers during application modernization initiatives.Participate in QA, User Acceptance Testing, defect triage, and validation.Analyze system integration points and modernization opportunities.Communicate project risks, status updates, and recommendations to leadership.Maintain traceability from business requirements through implementation.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.7+ years of Business Analysis experience.Experience supporting enterprise application modernization projects.Experience documenting functional and non-functional requirements.Strong experience with process mapping and workflow documentation.Experience creating user stories and acceptance criteria.Knowledge of Azure DevOps or similar Agile management tools.Experience with SQL Server and enterprise application architecture.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.At least one IIBA Business Analysis certification.Preferred QualificationsExperience modernizing.NET Framework applications to.NET Core.Knowledge of Azure Functions, REST APIs, and cloud architecture.Experience with legacy system migration.Familiarity with microservices architecture.Agile or Scrum certifications.Experience with Clarity PPM, SharePoint, and Visio.
