OPERATIONS SPECIALIST - WATERFORD

Job Summary Provides complete customer services including opening of CD accounts and gathering information needed to efficiently process new and existing CD accounts. Coordinates with Deposit Operations Supervisor to implement and carry out bank policy and procedures with respect to overall operations of the bank. The primary responsibility is to perform a wide range of deposit operations and clerical duties, keeping records of financial transactions. Essential Responsibilities Open CD accounts and maintain them as requested Conduct branch and legal research Perform large dollar exception reviews and two‑signature reviews Daily review of exception items including NSF/Uncollected, chargebacks, Positive Pay, and Non‑Post items Activate dormant and inactive accounts Maintain opt‑out accounts Process return mail Scan signature cards Verify new Certificate of Deposit reports to ensure rates are within established limits Review branch ATM deposits Review and update W‑8 forms Weekly review and process Regulation D reports Review ACH/IAT reports Verify RDC Handle notices of change Monthly general ledger reconciliation Process debit card claims Process ACH claims and initiations Conduct Positive Pay review Review NSF/Uncollected reports Review forgery claims Handle notices of death and reclamation Review Regulation D accounts Review controlled accounts Process stop‑payment inputs and reviews Process escrow checks Process official interest checks Qualifications & Competencies High school diploma or equivalent, with certification in related fields or equivalent retail operations experience Previous experience in a financial institution Experience with Personal Banker functions (one year preferred) Strong mathematical and communication skills Good understanding of branch operational functions, products, and services Effective human‑relations and communication abilities Experience meeting deadlines, strong attention to detail, and quality focus Ability to meet high production and quality standards Adaptability to a changing environment Self‑motivated, capable of working independently, and managing own time Good listening and written comprehension skills Capacity to work flexible hours as required Computer skills Physical Demands & Work Environment The role requires working in an office environment with a comfortable room temperature, good lighting, and quiet conditions.
