Required License/Registration/Certification - 1. D.M.D. or D.D.S. degree from a CODA accredited institution or proof of graduation from a non-CODA accredited dental school and evidence that the degree makes the candidate eligible to practice dentistry in the jurisdiction from which the applicant graduated. 2. Completion of a Certificate Program in Periodontology 3. Maintenance of an unrestricted or faculty-limited dental license within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. 4. Maintenance of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Job Summary - The University of Kentucky, College of Dentistry is seeking applications for a full-time Clinical Title Series in the Division of Periodontology, Department of Oral Health Practice. This is a full time, 12-month assignment period, Clinical Title Series, non-tenure track eligible position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Professor. This position supports the College's educational, clinical, scholarly, and service missions through active participation in predoctoral periodontal education, scholarly activity, and institutional service. The College of Dentistry maintains a comprehensive predoctoral curriculum with periodontal instruction integrated throughout all four years of dental education. In addition, the Division sponsors a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)-accredited advanced education program in periodontics. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to predoctoral DMD program through clinical supervision, didactic teaching, mentorship, and scholarly engagement. The faculty member will report directly to the Division Chief of Periodontology within the Department of Oral Health Practice.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching and Clinical Education: Provide didactic and clinical instruction in periodontology for predoctoral dental students. Supervise patient care activities in predoctoral clinical settings. Serve as course director and participate in curriculum development, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives. Mentor and advise students in academic, clinical, and research activities.
• Scholarly Activity: Engage in scholarly activity consistent with divisional and institutional goals. Participate in ongoing periodontal and interdisciplinary research initiatives. Develop collaborative research efforts within the College and across disciplines. Present scholarly work at regional, national, and international scientific meetings.
• Service and Professional Engagement: Participate actively in division, departmental, college, and university committees. Contribute to continuing education programs and professional meetings. Maintain current knowledge and competency in periodontology through ongoing professional development and scholarly engagement. Participate in local, regional, and national professional organizations.
• Faculty Direct Patient Care: The faculty member will function as a full-time member of the Division of Periodontology, Department of Oral Health Practice. The faculty member must be accepted as a member of the active Medical Staff of the University Hospital.
