In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-quality iOS applications that serve hundreds of millions of PayPal customers globally. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver exceptional mobile experiences.\n\nJob Description:\n\nEssential Responsibilities: \n\n * Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles.\n * Advises immediate management on project-level issues\n * Guides junior engineers\n * Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices\n * Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n * 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor\u2019s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\n\n\nAdditional Responsibilities \u0026 Preferred Qualifications:\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Design, develop, and ship high-quality, scalable iOS features and components for the PayPal consumer application\n\n * Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested Swift/Objective-C code with a focus on performance and reliability\n\n * Collaborate with product, design, and backend engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver end-to-end features\n\n * Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions for mobile systems\n\n * Conduct thorough code reviews to uphold engineering best practices and coding standards\n\n * Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory issues, and crashes in production\n\n * Champion mobile engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and accessibility\n\n * Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the iOS engineering team\n\n * Stay current with the latest iOS platform updates, tools, and industry trends\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s or Master\u0027s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)\n\n * 5+ years of professional iOS development experience\n\n * Proficiency in Swift; working knowledge of Objective-C\n\n * Strong understanding of iOS frameworks including UIKit, SwiftUI, CoreData, CoreLocation, and Combine\n\n * Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and mobile networking patterns\n\n * Solid understanding of iOS memory management, multithreading, and performance optimization\n\n * Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies\n\n * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail\n\n * Experience writing unit and UI tests (XCTest, Quick/Nimble)\n\n * Excellent communication and collaboration skills\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Experience building and shipping applications with millions of active users\n\n * Knowledge of mobile security best practices, including secure data storage and authentication\n\n * Experience with payments, fintech, or commerce-related applications\n\n * Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks and feature flagging tools\n\n * Contributions to open-source iOS projects or a strong public portfolio\n\n * Experience with React Native or cross-platform mobile frameworks\n\n * Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, VoiceOver)\n\n\n\n\nSubsidiary:\n\nPayPal\n\nTravel Percent:\n\n0\n\n-\n\nThe base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring.
