Finishing Operator ILocation: Troy, ALClassification: Non-ExemptGrade: PF4Department: FinishingReports To: Finishing SupervisorSUMMARY/OBJECTIVEThe Finishing department performs specific tasks that enhance the aesthetic characteristics of a part. This position requires running specific finishing operations in a safe and quality manner with limited supervision. The Finishing Operator I must gain and apply lean and finishing equipment knowledge and techniques to deliver on CI expectations among other things, in collaboration with the area Team Lead, Supervisor, etc.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Performs all assigned finishing department operationsDetects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to managementMaintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety proceduresPerforms, parts labeling, parts washing, de-burring, sanding, packaging tasksCompletes and maintains accurate paperwork/ labor reportingAssists in other areas as needed.Ability to read and understand operation specification sheetsAbility to grasp, manipulate, and assemble small objectsCross functional team builder/player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasmExperience working independently with little supervisionNeed to be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-taskAbility to make sound decisionsMust be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast work environment that has the potential to change due to regulatory and business needsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:High School Diploma or GEDPreferred:Handgun and rifle knowledgeManufacturing experienceVocational/Technical DegreeREASONING ABILITYThis position requires various reasoning abilities in order to be successful such as:Ability to collect and document dataAbility to follow written and oral instructionsAbility to perform complex and varied tasksAbility to perform simple, repetitive tasks for an extended period of timeOTHER SKILLS & ABILITIESAttendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends.
