Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Physical Therapist to join our team at Iowa Ortho and provide high-quality, patient-centered care in the Occupational Medicine capacity. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population while also supporting Occupational Medicine services.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative, patient-focused clinician who values clinical excellence, strong communication, and helping patients achieve meaningful functional outcomes. Previous Occupational Medicine experience is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized plans of care based on functional needs and clinical findings.
- Provide evidence-based physical therapy interventions designed to improve function, mobility, strength, and quality of life.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
- Perform specialized evaluations and assessments as indicated.
- Perform Occupational Medicine assessments, as applicable, to evaluate functional abilities, physical tolerances, and ability to safely perform work-related activities.
- Prepare timely and comprehensive documentation and reports related to patient care and FCE findings.
- Communicate evaluation findings and recommendations with patients, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, home exercise programs, safety, and functional goals.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapist Assistants, support staff, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
- Maintain compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, clinic policies, and safety procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current, active and unencumbered Physical Therapist license in the state of employment.
- 2 years of experience preferred.
- Occupational Medicine experience preferred.
- Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Commitment to exceptional patient care and customer service.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening and drug screening.
