POSITION SUMMARYThe Supply Chain Planning Manager is responsible for developing production schedules and monitoring the performance of the Amsted Rail – Bearings production teams against those schedules. This role focuses on planning and analyzing demand and supply to ensure customer requirements are met while balancing capacity constraints, material availability, resource allocation, and financial objectives for the assigned business areas. The ideal candidate will lead Bearings supply chain planning and support operations in Petersburg and Mexico by helping ensure safety, quality, productivity, and service standards are consistently achieved. The successful candidate will have 3–4 years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment, experience with ERP systems, and a proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Join Amsted Rail today and help shape the future of supply chain performance in a dynamic manufacturing environment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without accommodation.Leads monthly S&OP process so that the various business groups are aligned for the upcoming 12 months’ requirementsWorks with Sales to maintain monthly APO files and provide lead-time guidance to the sales teamDevelops Master Production Schedule (MPS) and formal production schedules on a weekly and monthly basisManages short-term operational efficiencies, capacities and inventories to identify supply interruptions to customersDevelops inventory targets and monitors inventory levels to optimize operations, service levels and working capital investmentServes as liaison between international partners, sales, customer service representatives, scheduling, purchasing, and internal operations customersHelps ensure inventory accuracy through proper transaction processing and by leading routine cycle counts, audits, and annual physical inventoryLeads collaborative planning processes with domestic and foreign joint ventures, strategic customers, and suppliersMeasures and reports key supply chain metrics, including forecast accuracy, on-time delivery, and inventory turns, and identifies additional metrics to evaluate overall supply chain performanceLeads efforts to ensure SAP data is accurate and complete to create clean MRP signals for operations and purchasingPartners with Engineering to set up new parts in SAPAdhere to plant-wide safety, ergonomics and environmental requirements defined by Amsted Rail; outlined by the Amsted Rail Health & Safety programMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, business administration or related field of study; or equivalent combination of education and experienceEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience required, SAP and/or SAP APO (Advanced Planning Optimization) strongly preferredAPICS Certifications such as CPIM or CSCP a plusMust be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening (including THC) and a background checkAble to regularly move throughout the facility as neededBENEFITSEmployee Ownership: Annual stock awards (10% of compensation)401(k) Match: Up to 4% dollar-for-dollarComprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, HSA with company contributions, life insurance, disability coverage, and pet insurance available after 30 daysCompetitive Pay: Salary base, considering education and experience, plus annual bonus potential, and annual merit increasesCareer Growth: Commitment to employee development and advancement through professional development, mentorship opportunities, company-funded training, and certification assistanceWork-Life Balance: Paid Time Off (PTO), starting at 3 weeks, plus 11 paid holidaysAdditional Offerings: Tuition reimbursement, referral bonuses, employee discount programsAmsted Rail’s commitment to Affirmative Action:Amsted Rail is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
