Role Description The Shift Supervisor role at Starbucks in Modesto, CA is a part-time, on-site position responsible for leading the store team during assigned shifts. Day-to-day, the Shift Supervisor supports store operations by coordinating partner activities, ensuring quality beverages and food are prepared consistently, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. This role helps manage the flow of customers, supports cash handling and store opening/closing procedures, and ensures adherence to Starbucks standards and policies. The Shift Supervisor coaches and guides partners, supports training, and helps foster a positive, inclusive work culture focused on great customer service and teamwork. The role also assists in handling customer concerns and contributes to meeting store performance and safety goals. Qualifications Experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service, with the ability to deliver friendly, efficient, and consistent service. Basic leadership and team coordination skills, including the ability to delegate tasks, motivate partners, and provide coaching during shifts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, partners, and managers. Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, maintain store cleanliness, and support inventory and cash-handling procedures. Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and perform moderate physical tasks such as lifting and moving products. Reliability and flexibility to work varied schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
