Location

Virginia Beach, VA – On-site. Enjoy working alongside an experienced, collaborative team, with occasional work-from-home flexibility for established professionals when personal circumstances require it.

Note

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, be a CPA or CPA candidate, and have substantial public accounting experience serving construction industry clients, including both tax preparation and financial statement work.

We're looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor or Manager who shares our commitment to quality and enjoys helping clients and colleagues succeed.

Job Description

• Manage and review federal and multistate business tax returns, including Forms 1120S, 1120, and 1065, along with individual tax returns for business owners.
• Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, compilations, reviews, and audit engagements for construction industry clients.
• Serve as a trusted resource for construction business owners, helping them navigate tax compliance, financial reporting, and accounting challenges.
• Collaborate directly with firm leadership on tax planning, financial analysis, and client advisory services.
• Guide and support accounting staff, review workpapers, and maintain high standards for accuracy and client service.
• Manage multiple client engagements, timelines, and deliverables while maintaining strong professional relationships.
• Assist with construction accounting matters, including contract schedules, financial statement disclosures, and business tax planning.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and deliver additional value through proactive accounting and tax guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA certification.
• Strong public accounting experience serving construction industry clients.
• Experience preparing and reviewing business tax returns and financial statements.
• Knowledge of construction accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
• Ability to manage client engagements, communicate directly with business owners, and work independently.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supervising or mentoring accounting professionals is preferred.
• Experience with CCH ProSystem fx Tax or Engagement is a plus.
