Job TitleMechanical Repair TechnicianCompanyAllegheny Health NetworkJob DescriptionGeneral Overview:Handles all mechanical repairs throughout the hospital, including electrical and plumbing.Essential ResponsibilitiesPerforms equipment and materials fabrication including miscellaneous installations and repairs (including repairs to wheelchairs and beds); updates and repairs hospital plumbing systems, electrical repairs, light carpentry and other trades. (65%)Responds to service and emergency calls regarding any maintenance repair, electrical or plumbing problem. (25%)Maintains locks and keys and door related apparatus. (5%)Must demonstrate personal accountability for knowledge and application of DOH, Joint Commission and ICRA requirements. (5%)QualificationsMinimum:High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must have a basic working knowledge of a wide range of mechanical equipment.Preferred:Stationary Engineering training as well as training in plumbing, HVAC, and/or electrical.Certification in Proper Refrigeration Practices Type I and Type II.Prior mechanical experience including burning and welding.Prior Healthcare Experience.Compliance Requirement: This job adheres to the ethical and legal standards and behavioral expectations as set forth in the code of business conduct and company policies.As a component of job responsibilities, employees may have access to covered information, cardholder data, or other confidential customer information that must be protected at all times.
