About the Position

Job Title: Clinical Nurse II Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVOR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Three years of CVOR circulating experience. - A minimum of one year of travel assignment experience in the last three years. License: - Current California RN License. Certifications: - Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS). - American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Must-Have: - Proficient in the operation of clinical equipment, computers, and technology within the nursing practice setting. - Experience in guiding, assisting, and directing unlicensed assistive personnel as defined by the nursing practice regulations and organizational policies. Description: The Clinical Nurse II is a registered nurse who practices as a full partner on the health care team. The nurse consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. The Clinical Nurse II possesses the knowledge, skills, and attitude to meet standards for competent professional nursing practice. The nurse exhibits organizational core values that reflect its mission. This position involves providing patient care through the application of the nursing process. The nurse accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients, ranging from infancy to adult. The Clinical Nurse II demonstrates competencies in Patient and Family Centered Care, Evidence-Based Practice, Safety, Continuous Quality Improvement, Teamwork, Technology/Informatics, Professionalism, and Leadership. The nurse works closely with the inter-professional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. The nurse focuses on expanding the knowledge and skills necessary for individualized care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate considerations of assigned patients. The Clinical Nurse II seeks feedback while assuming leadership roles and provides feedback for improved clinical practice. The nurse demonstrates how nursing practice impacts the organizational vision, mission, and goals as well as the care delivery system. The nurse complies with all regulations and standards from regulatory and accrediting bodies. The Clinical Nurse II recognizes the patient or their designee as the source of control and full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care. The nurse manages more complex patient care assignments appropriate to their skill level. This position involves participating in building consensus and resolving conflict in the context of patient care. The nurse engages in problem-solving to address complex issues regarding the delivery of safer, high-quality, patient-centered care. The Clinical Nurse II evaluates and integrates best current evidence with clinical expertise and patient/family preferences for optimal health care. The nurse utilizes an evidence-based practice process that includes generating clinical questions and searching and evaluating the quality of evidence. The nurse serves as a resource person for safety concerns and participates in analyzing errors and designing system improvements.
