Associate Director, Global Media Relations

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an Associate Director of Global Media Relations to develop and execute a comprehensive media strategy spanning business, trade, and consumer outlets. The role involves building media relationships, crafting compelling narratives about the company's medicines and mission, and supporting executive communications across geographies.
Responsibilities
- Execute global media strategy across print, broadcast, digital, and consumer media to advance company reputation
- Monitor external media trends and develop informed recommendations for BMS media positioning
- Identify, develop, and pitch compelling storylines including human-interest and patient narratives
- Build and manage relationships across diverse media landscape; handle incoming requests and proactive outreach
- Develop core messages, talking points, and media materials tailored to different audience segments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum seven years of media relations experience, preferably in pharmaceutical industry
- Established relationships with print, broadcast, digital, and consumer/lifestyle media outlets
- Strong writing and storytelling abilities; proficiency in AP style
- Demonstrated business acumen and ability to translate complex topics into clear messaging
- Capacity to counsel senior leaders and work effectively across organizational levels
Compensation: $156,660 - $189,829 base
