Panino Divino is hiring Sandwich Maker / Counter Service Team Members to help bring our Tuscan sandwich shop, wine bar, and spritz bar to life. This role is focused on greeting guests, taking orders, building schiacciata sandwiches, keeping the line moving, and creating a warm, efficient guest experience. The ideal candidate is friendly, fast, reliable, clean, and comfortable working as part of a small team.

Panino Divino is a Tuscan sandwich shop, wine bar, and spritz bar opening on West 39th Street in Kansas City. Our menu is built around fresh-baked schiacciata bread, Italian meats and cheeses, house-made spreads, wine, spritzes, beer, and a fast-casual but elevated guest experience.

Position Summary

The Sandwich Maker / Counter Service Team Member will help run the front counter and sandwich line during lunch, afternoon, and evening service. This role is important to both speed and quality. Team members will take orders, make sandwiches accurately, help guests, keep the line stocked, and support the overall flow of service.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests and provide friendly, helpful service
• Take orders accurately using the POS system
• Build sandwiches according to Panino Divino recipes and portion standards
• Keep the sandwich line clean, stocked, and organized
• Assist with slicing, portioning, prep, packaging, and restocking as needed
• Run food, refill chips/drinks, and help maintain the dining area
• Communicate clearly with bakers, bartenders, and management
• Follow food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards
• Help manage rushes with speed, accuracy, and calm communication
• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
• Work as part of a small team and help wherever needed

Qualifications:

• Restaurant, counter service, deli, café, or fast-casual experience preferred
• Friendly and comfortable interacting with guests
• Able to work quickly while maintaining accuracy
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food quality
• Able to stand for long periods
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Food handler certification preferred or willingness to obtain one
• Weekend availability strongly preferred

Schedule

Part-time and full-time shifts available. Day, evening, and weekend availability preferred. Typical shifts may include lunch service, afternoon/evening service, and weekend shifts.

Compensation

$14–$17 per hour, based on experience.
