Ikigai is a 10-course Japanese Kaiseki restaurant located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. The shifts are Tuesday–Saturday nights, averaging 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Serving cocktails that highlight Japanese ingredients, seasonal flavors, and thoughtful pairings with the tasting menu.
• Guiding guests through sake, wine, whisky, beer, and non-alcoholic offerings with accuracy, enthusiasm, and hospitality.
• Presenting beverage experiences that complement the flow of a 10-course Kaiseki meal.
• Supporting dining room service, including drink delivery, clearing, resetting, and overall guest care.
• Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure seamless pairings and service throughout the evening.
• Upholding restaurant-wide standards of organization, cleanliness, and teamwork.
• Contributing to a team-based service model, including setup, breakdown, and shared responsibilities.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of sake, Japanese whisky, and spirits, plus enthusiasm for Japanese flavors and ingredients.
• Experience creating cocktails, with a focus on balance, creativity, and precision.
• Ability to explain beverages and cocktails to guests in an engaging, approachable way.
• Prior bartending or beverage-focused fine dining experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to hospitality.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Compensation: Salary/Hourly ($70,000.00 - $85,000.00)
