About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 weeks or 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of Level 4 NICU experience, Cardiac PICU experience preferred License: Requires state license (VA license pending accepted with temporary license) Certifications: BLS, NRP required; ACCS preferred Must-Have: Competence in caring for patients in the NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatrics. Strong communication and critical thinking skills. Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Description: This position involves providing respiratory care to patients in critical conditions. The Respiratory Therapist will be required to work in various units, including NICU and PICU. Candidates must be proficient in the use of advanced respiratory equipment such as Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A. Experience with a range of respiratory therapies and procedures is essential. Must be willing to work every other weekend and holiday. Self-scheduling is utilized, but desired schedules are not guaranteed. The candidate will assist in high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports. Adeptness in managing conditions such as bronchopulmonary dysplasia and respiratory distress syndrome is required. The role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
