We are looking for an A-Level / Lead Automotive Technician who values honesty, deep technical problem-solving, clear communication, and a professional work-life balance.

The Role & Responsibilities:

As our Lead A-Level Technician, you will be the backbone of our shop’s diagnostic capability and heavy repair throughput, tackling our most complex drivability, electrical, and mechanical challenges.

• Advanced Diagnostics: Perform root-cause diagnostic testing on complex drivability issues, check engine lights, network/CAN-bus communication faults, and intermittent electrical problems using modern diagnostic suites, oscilloscopes, and scan tools.
• Heavy Mechanical Repairs: Execute major engine, transmission, timing system, HVAC, and chassis/drivetrain overhauls to exact OEM specifications.
• Digital Inspections & Clarity: Perform thorough, objective DVIs on tablet, documenting diagnostic findings with supporting evidence so service advisors can effectively explain the "why" and "how" to the customer.
• Quality Assurance & Leadership: Maintain a near-zero comeback rate by verifying repairs with thorough post-repair test drives and re-scans. Serve as a technical resource and mentor for B-Level technicians and apprentices.
• Shop Flow: Demonstrate superior time management by balancing complex diagnostic work with high-yield mechanical jobs to keep shop capacity moving efficiently.

Technical Requirements:

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience as a lead automotive technician with a proven track record in advanced diagnostic isolation.
• Diagnostic Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with multi-brand scan tools (Snap-On, Autel Ultra, etc.), lab scopes, circuit testers, and OEM diagnostic software. Fluent in reading wiring diagrams and analyzing network data.
• Certifications: ASE Certifications required (Master ASE / L1 Advanced Engine Performance highly preferred).
• Tools: Must possess a complete, professional inventory of hand tools, power tools, and some personal diagnostic equipment (Chino Autotech Inc. provides high-end specialty tooling and advanced scan systems).
• Mindset & Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and an uncompromising "fix it right the first time" mentality.
