Job Title: Clinical Resource Nurse Profession: Non-bedside Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Saturday and Sunday Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Two (2) years of related experience License: Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Behavior Health Experience; De-Escalation Techniques Description: The BHU Resource RN will provide professional quality psychiatric nursing care to patients hospitalized with psychiatric/emotional disorders according to hospital policies and procedures. Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural and psychosocial factors. Participates in the development, review, and evaluation of multidisciplinary treatment plans as per policies and procedures. Develops a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients to coordinate psychosocial treatment with standardized physical nursing care and guidance. Maintains and reviews patients' records including posting test and examination results. Facilitates patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and utilization of patient education resources, suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities as evidenced by attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports. Performs other duties as assigned. Independent judgment is required in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only. Coordinates activities of others and leads others in the same work performed, but does not supervise. Has input on performance evaluations but does not prepare or give them. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Engages with internal and external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
