Amentum is seeking a high‑performing Project Engineer II to lead the technical execution of engineering projects supporting our Environmental Management, Defense, National Security, and National Laboratory customers. As an Amentum Project Engineer you will apply engineering knowledge, management, and leadership skills throughout the full lifecycle of projects, coordinating technical teams through design integration and evolution, resolving multidisciplinary engineering issues, and representing the interests of and providing best value for our customers. As part of the Design Projects team you will work with a group of dedicated Project Engineers and Directors focused on nuclear waste treatment, radioactive waste cleanup, environmental management, and advanced clean‑energy solutions. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited university. 12 years of engineering experience, including no less than 5 years as a licensed professional engineer (required for advancement). Minimum 3 years of Project Engineering Management experience leading a group of 3–4 or more technical/engineering personnel. Must be a U.S. Citizen (dual citizenship may be considered). Candidate who does not yet hold a PE license must obtain licensure within 18–24 months to qualify for advancement. Preferred Qualifications Experience in chemical, waste, utility processes, and high‑hazard facility design. Field experience including engineering, procurement, and construction support, startup, and commissioning. Supervising engineers and subcontractors. Exceptional verbal, written, and technical presentation skills. Strong time‑management and organizational skills. Command of technical scope and scope control. Multi‑discipline work coordination. Cost and schedule management. Labor‑hour estimate development. Industry Experience At least two of the following: nuclear waste treatment, energy industry, utilities for balance of plant, environmental management, clean energy (hydrogen, advanced nuclear). Direct experience with federal agencies such as the Department of Energy and the Department of Defense.
