This correctional facility provides comprehensive healthcare services to the adult population in a secure environment with dedicated medical support staff. The facility operates with established protocols during regular business hours and maintains appropriate equipment and systems including the Naphcare EMR system to deliver quality primary care services to patients requiring both routine and complex medical interventions.

The area features mountain views and natural attractions including Luray Caverns, with hiking opportunities at locations such as Humpback Rocks, Crabtree Falls, and Natural Bridge. The physician will provide comprehensive family medicine services to adult patients in a correctional facility setting Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, managing approximately 18-20 patients daily with no call requirements. Clinical responsibilities include conducting thorough patient evaluations, managing chronic medical conditions, providing preventive healthcare services, and treating acute illnesses while maintaining accurate documentation in the Naphcare EMR system. The position requires Virginia medical licensure and DEA registration, working collaboratively with registered nurses and licensed practical nurses to ensure optimal patient outcomes within the specialized correctional healthcare environment.
