Phlebotomist

Collect and process venous and capillary blood samples from patients of all ages for laboratory analysis Provide customer service to patients and laboratory department stakeholders Assist in training phlebotomy students, nursing personnel, and laboratory personnel on specimen collection, handling, transport, and related phlebotomy practices Comply with corporate, departmental, and job-specific requirements Identify work-related problems and participate in departmental Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement efforts Use hospital and laboratory information and technology systems Perform other duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Prior phlebotomy experience required No certification, registration, or licensure required Proficiency with hospital and laboratory information and technology systems Ability to collect, identify, label, handle, and transport venous and capillary blood specimens Ability to perform capillary glucose testing and associated laboratory specimen collection clerical duties Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds occasionally Ability to work with bloodborne and airborne pathogens, bodily fluids, and occasional electrical, mechanical, and chemical hazards Core Competencies Demonstrates proficiency in collecting and processing venous and capillary blood specimens while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality assurance standards.
