Be the difference./ph3Job Summary/h3pUnder the supervision of a provider and in collaboration with other team members, provides basic nursing care in a non-acute ambulatory patient setting in accordance with the State Board of Nursing, Nurse Practice Act, professional standards of care, state regulations, accreditation standards and Prisma Healths philosophy, policies and procedures./ph3Essential Functions/h3ulliAll team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Healths purpose: Inspire health. Be the difference./liliProvides patient care based upon individualized plan of care as delegated by the Registered Nurse/Provider including patients physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychosocial, and educational needs./liliAssists provider with examinations, procedures and other activities related to patient care./liliArranges for patient appointments for diagnostic testing, consults, referrals and admission to hospital./liliMonitors and maintains stock of medical supplies and proper functioning of equipment./liliDocuments patients vital statistics and other encounter data into patient chart and ensures that all required records are in the chart. Obtains brief medical history and chief complaint from patients./liliPromotes positive health behaviors and self-care skills through patient education./liliPrepares exam rooms with appropriate instruments, supplies and equipment./liliCleans exam rooms between exams and procedures./liliReceives and returns clinically related telephone calls and messages. Screens and forwards those requiring provider action./liliCompletes medical/physical history forms and other related information for insurance companies./liliMay administer oral and injectable medications as directed by a provider./liliAdministers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol./liliServes as a role model and participates in educating and mentoring other members of the care team./liliAttends department and organization meetings./liliCompletes annual and as needed compliance training./liliPractices safe, efficient use of supplies and resources./liliMaintains a clean, safe, and caring environment for patients, family and other staff./liliAssumes responsibility for ones own professional development and continuing education./liliMay serve as a preceptor, unit champion, or participate in shared governance./liliAdheres to all compliance, policies and procedures of the organization./liliPerforms other duties as assigned./li/ulh3Supervisory/Management Responsibility/h3ulliThis is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive./li/ulh3Minimum Requirements/h3ulliEducation - Completion of an LPN program recognized by the State Board of Nursing./liliExperience - No experience required./li/ulh3In Lieu Of/h3ulliIn lieu of completion of a LPN program, will accept program equivalency recognized by the State Board of Nursing./li/ulh3Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses/h3ulliHolds a current LPN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an LPN in the state the team member is working./liliIf an LPN team member working in this position obtains RN licensure, Prisma Health will accept RN licensure for a limited time until the team member can be placed in an RN position.
