Job Overview A law firm seeks a patent agent to join their Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Patent Prosecution Practice Group in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, relevant industry experience, and excellent writing and communication skills. Responsibilities Prepare and prosecute patent applications in electrical engineering and software-related technologies. Collaborate with clients to understand their inventions and draft patent applications. Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses. Communicate with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) regarding patent applications. Requirements 2+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution. Admission to the USPTO. Education Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or physics. Certifications USPTO registration. Skills Proficiency in patent prosecution for technologies such as machine learning, telecommunications, and autonomous driving. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
