Job ID : 297057 Location : Augusta University Employment Type : Part Time Job Summary Provide healthcare services to patients and perform a variety of duties in the assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in the ambulatory clinic setting. Responsibilities Provide primary medical care to patients presenting to the Student Health Clinic for acute/urgent symptoms or those seeking routine care, including history taking, physical assessment, and determination of appropriate differential diagnoses based on clinical guidelines. Provide telehealth services via an approved platform to the student health services population. Order appropriate diagnostic tests and procedures based on subjective and objective findings, develop treatment plans and dispositions consistent with clinical best‑practice guidelines, and participate in e‑prescribing. Provide patients with applicable health education and prevention information based on age‑specific guidelines. Participate in departmental activities such as policy development, nursing standing orders, risk management, quality improvement, compliance with accreditation standards, and departmental/division meetings as requested. Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director, Director of Student Health Services or the University. Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university’s school of medicine/osteopathic medicine and an internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, or emergency medicine residency program. Active and unrestricted physician license in the state of Georgia. Board‑eligible or board‑certified in the respective medical discipline. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider ACLS certification or obtain within the first year of employment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in an ambulatory care setting, preferably with a college‑age population. Experience providing gender‑based healthcare and patient health education. Experience working in a team of health care providers managing low acuity mental health diagnoses and treatment plans. Experience using electronic health records, PDMP, and e‑prescribing. Experience managing bloodborne pathogen exposures and prophylaxis. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Awareness of infection prevention policies and ability to follow best‑practice guidelines for quality and safety in a healthcare organization. Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail‑oriented with ability to complete tasks on time and maintain accuracy in documentation. Excellent customer service attitude. Proficient in technology skills with multiple platforms, such as Microsoft, Adobe, and EHR platforms. Abilities: Maintain confidentiality. Work within a multidisciplinary team of providers, clinical staff, and administrative staff to serve a varying student population. Certifications / License Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification. Shift / Salary / Benefits Part‑time non‑benefits eligible position (.40 FTE or 16.0 hours per week). Shift: Days; Monday‑Friday. Salary commensurate with qualifications within the established range (generally minimum‑midpoint) of the position. Recruitment period: Until Filled. Conditions of Employment Pass a background check review prior to starting. Required to have a credit check for positions of trust or approved departmental purchase card usage, if applicable. Motor vehicle reports required for positions that require driving an Augusta University vehicle.
