Senior Project Manager Location: Site-based Employment Type: Permanent Reports to: Contracts Manager Salary: 80,000-100,000+car allowance/car+bonus Role Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to take overall responsibility for the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of complex civil engineering works. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage programme and financial performance, maintain strong client relationships and ensure all activities are completed in accordance with health, safety, quality and environmental requirements. Key Responsibilities ·Provide overall leadership and direction to the delivery team. ·Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. ·Develop and maintain detailed delivery programmes, including resources, procurement requirements, milestones and critical paths. ·Monitor progress against programme, budget and commercial targets. ·Work closely with commercial teams to manage costs, forecasts, variations and financial performance. ·Identify, assess and manage operational, commercial and programme risks. ·Maintain accurate risk registers and implement appropriate mitigation measures. ·Manage changes to scope, requirements, resources and programme. ·Ensure clear records are maintained regarding delays, changes, resources and completed works. ·Lead regular progress meetings with operational teams, clients and other stakeholders. ·Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and external organisations. ·Manage client expectations and ensure issues are addressed promptly and professionally. ·Coordinate subcontractors and ensure they are approved, properly managed and working in accordance with agreed procedures. ·Ensure design information and technical deliverables are provided in line with the programme. ·Oversee the preparation and implementation of construction phase plans, risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work. ·Ensure site inductions, briefings and appropriate training are completed. ·Investigate accidents and incidents, implementing measures to prevent recurrence. ·Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and all relevant health and safety legislation. ·Monitor labour, plant, material and subcontract costs against agreed budgets. ·Produce regular reports covering programme, costs, resources, risks, progress and key issues. ·Support tender and pre-construction activities when required. ·Lead, develop and motivate team members, providing clear responsibilities, feedback and support. ·Ensure handover information, health and safety files, as-built records and other completion documentation are produced accurately and on time. ·Capture lessons learned and identify opportunities to improve future delivery. Skills and Experience ·Significant experience managing the delivery of civil engineering or construction works. ·Proven technical and operational management capability. ·Strong understanding of construction planning, programming and resource management. ·Detailed knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction health and safety requirements. ·Experience preparing and implementing construction phase plans, work package plans, task briefings and safe systems of work. ·Strong commercial awareness and experience monitoring budgets, forecasts and cost performance. ·Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary delivery teams. ·Ability to identify and manage risk, change and programme pressures. ·Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills. ·Excellent leadership, communication and organisational abilities. ·Able to make informed decisions and remain effective under pressure.
